The Trusted Advisor program is a financial wellness service that provides individualized financial counseling at your employees’ convenience. For over twenty years our counselors have helped New Yorkers understand their finances, achieve their long term goals, and manage the challenges that pop up along the way.

Center for Youth Employment connects your business to programs like Ladders for Leaders to help you source new talent. Sign up to hire a high-achieving New York City high school or college student for a summer or semester-long internship. All internship candidates are strong academic performers and have been recommended by a teacher or professor who can vouch for their maturity and work-readiness. Our graduates hold advanced education degrees, have in-demand skills, and several years of valuable work experience in another country than the United States. Seedco is a national organization that is based in New York City and works to advance economic opportunity for people, businesses, and communities in need. Through the Youth Advancing in the Workplace program, Seedco helps food-industry employers to hire, retain, and advance high-performing employees by collaborating to develop strategic training procedures and performance evaluation processes and supports employees with ongoing personal, professional, and financial coaching.

For over twenty years our counselors have helped New Yorkers understand their finances, achieve their long term goals, and manage the challenges that pop up along the way.

Through your participation in the BestForNYC community, you and your employees already have unlimited access to Trusted Advisor. Employees ages 18 and older can text “BestForNYC” to 646-937-6218 to register and schedule their first session with a financial counselor.

NYC Service

NYC Service is the connector and conduit between the private and public sector. We create and manage employee volunteer opportunities to tap into the time, talent, and skills of dexterous and talented employees. Our team facilitates connections between corporations and nonprofits/City agencies to carry out days of service and volunteer engagement projects.

New Women New Yorkers works with immigrant women from all backgrounds, providing them with workforce development training and practice to enter successfully in the NYC workforce. Host an in-person mock interview or career counseling session, where a small group of your employees will offer an opportunity to our participants to practice their job interview skills and receive valuable insight and advice for entry into the NYC workforce. There are also opportunities for employees to join a network of resume reviewers, and a new network of mentors and coaches for the graduates of our programs.

Businesses are asked to host the in-person event(s) at their offices, to provide a chance to our participants to see a work environment in NYC. Businesses are also requested to make a voluntary contribution to the program, in order to offset time and resources dedicated to the planning and holding of the event(s). SBIDC operates the Brooklyn Workforce1 Industrial and Transportation Career Center out of the Brooklyn Army Terminal. In this capacity, we provide free hiring assistance to Brooklyn-based industrial, manufacturing, construction, and transportation businesses, and connect local residents with full-time employment in industrial, manufacturing, construction, and transportation jobs. Our services are free to both jobseekers and employers. SBIDC also provides ongoing job retention services, including case management, coaching, and referrals for wraparound services, to ensure that workers remain on the job and advance in their careers. In addition, SBIDC operates the 21st Century Skills program, which provides education in innovative sectors of the industrial economy, including advanced manufacturing, green jobs, and design, to individuals throughout our catchment area.

BOC Women’s Business Center

Through our offices the Women’s Business Center services provide much needed services to New York City’s socially and economically disadvantaged women entrepreneurs. The WBC provides one-on-one business counseling, short and long-term training (in multiple languages), networking opportunities, access to financing, resources and referrals that complement and support both nascent and existing small businesses.
